I was so surprised when he didn't even think of that. It probably had more to do with the writers not wanting to "go there" ,either because we had been teased so many times or because they had already written "Sein und Zeit" and "Closure" though not necessarily filmed them yet as the series was always filmed out of order. I think Je Souhaite was a good episode but it wold have been so much better if Mulder had used his wishes more carefully. I was one of many who thought he would use one in regards to his relationship with Scully but finding out the truth about Samantha should have been number one. ("Closure" was so anti-climactic and unrewarding. It did not feel like closure at all. I have always felt that the Samantha resolution and Mulder's return should have been saved for the second film) The "world peace" wish always seems to backfire. There is just too much involved. The wishes ought to be personal and not altruistic although Mulder's final wish was, and it was "pure Mulder" and very sweet.   See 1 other reply
