Rich character development and payoff all around. The follow up episode to the hostage crisis was handled well without going back into it, they moved the storyline along.
The internal struggle stays without the series' norm centering around getting an issue out. Having the inter-office dynamics with Willa and Barrow come together in this episode It made for great play between them and Lucy. A town run on favors.
Lucy is revealing depth without losing edge. Her final scene with Holt was strong, to the point, as it were.
Don Konkey, a perfect character and well acted. I love the versatility of the character via his hallucinatory life. My favorite Don episode so far, A happy one for him, though not without his struggles. The hand clasp scene was great, and the cake was so much fun I was grinning ear to ear. Horny Don is hilarious. Kenny also makes a memorable appearance thanks to Don's world.
I am starting to believe Julia and Holt as the A list actors they're portrayed as. I look forward to seeing both of the real actors more, I hope this series assists that. At any rate, they both play big stars very well. Julia's speech was stellar.
The end shot with Lucy going into her classic vibrator drawer, and revealing the Barack magazine cover in the drawer was less than subtle, I wonder who placed that in, was it scripted or Courtney's placement? Courtney is the fantastically gorgeous seductress in black, the role is very becoming of her womanhood. A character with beauty and depth, and a role Cox-Arquette handles with power and grace. I'm glad friends keeps paying the bills, because the *&$%#! cancelled this show, which could have cooked on for a while longer.
