This film is very enlightening and illustrates everything that is wrong about Modern Day International Sports Event Organizing.
The organizers of all major sporting events regardless of whether they are local, regional, national, etc... want there events to appear perfect even to the point where it becomes fake and an appalling tragedy to the communities as a whole. Everyone with a television, organized media that publishes pictures and is basically literate knows that South Africa and the African continent is home to a majority of the World's poorest people. It is wrong for any country to misrepresent itself even if they believe that their actions will produce prosperity for a few when it takes very little logic to know that it will never improve the lives of the majority and in fact will devastate them almost completely. The Olympics in Atlanta was a similar situation on a smaller scale. They built venues they could not afford, moved the homeless and impoverished away to improve the appearance of the Village and surrounding areas, and the city counsel made big promises of great rewards that actually could and would have been if they hadn't squandered any possible returns by mismanagement and over doing the construction. In the end, I would believe that the city of Atlanta could find far more uses for the leftover venues than South Africa ever will. If you care about Humanity it makes you angry when you watch these travesties occur and no one of power does anything to correct it.
