This episode was the first one with a really clever plot. Wednesday decides to runaway from home after being punished. She decides to stay in Pugsley room to get all the sympathy of running away without all the dangers. When Gomez and Morticia try to use pyschology on her and make her scared of running away, it backfires and she really does run away.Before this episode, the series relied on a lot of sight and sound gags and the barest plots. This has the usual great gags, but the unusual plot actually makes the show much more involving and enjoyable.My favorite joke is the tuna cannery reference. Gomez and Morticia tell Wednesday that she'll end up working in a tuna cannery if she runs away. Instead of deterring Wednesday, she actually runs away to go to the tuna cannery. It shows how easily children misinterpret things.
