Yes it was a pitbull. The head is unmistakable. It may not be full blooded but it does appear to be close, the legs looked a bit short and the chest looked a bit deep. Not un heard of for a pit bull, just not terribly common.

Banning a type of dog is pretty stupid. Pitbulls are no more dangerous than a cocker spaniel. Aggressive dogs are agressive due to their upbringing, not their breed. In general Pitbulls are very happy, friendly and playfull and make great pets, especially with kids, since they don't mind being poked and prodded or getting their tails pulled as young kids will certainly do.

None of those wounds looked like they were deadly. A utility knife blade is only about an inch long and would require some very precise cuts to kill someone. Several jabs to the chest just wouldn't get it done.

I don't think that was a pit bull - those dogs are uniquely hideous, even beyond other dogs. I'll bet it was the nearest legal substitute. Given a few generations I'm sure the Britons can breed a "not a pit bull" that looks and acts exactly like its banned cousin (if they're really banned - didn't look that part up) See 4 other replies

I thought Pitbulls were outlawed in the U.K. Other than that, I love this show!
