Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_empty Very Entertaining
If you take the movie on it's own merit and not try to compare it to others in its genre, Peepers is very entertaining.

The dialog is clever and even funny at times, the characters solid, though I thought the plot had a few holes in it. Granted in a mystery you don't want things handed to you but the clues you get should make sense through out the movie.

Great old movie - it has a plot, great acting and writing. The dialog is superb. If you graduated from High School and went to more than a year of College you should enjoy it.

I kept waiting for the great acting by great actors to kick in: it just keep getting slower and bad. HuLu should have paid me to watch it. Don't waste your time.

Rating_full Rating_full Rating_empty Rating_empty Rating_empty Not The Big Sleep
Even though Bogey is doing the introductions (just in case we 'didn't get it'), this is no Big Sleep. It's clearly a remake/parody of it - many scenes are exactly the same, as are the settings and the characters. But this pales by comparison, it has no athmosphere, no rhythm, no suspense. I do like Michael Caine, but this is not one of his finest hours. Go see him in Alfie, that's worth spending some time on. And Natalie Wood is no Lauren Bacall, I'm sorry to say. Go se The Big Sleep and waste no time with this dud. I didn't get as far as the 4th commercial.

Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full The Mystery of the Movie Is just the beginning
The movie has suspense, and hidden clues abound, where no ones motives are clear until the very end. Great performances by the entire cast.. Few ,actors of Michael Caines calibur coome to mind in mainstream movies today. Or maybe is just that too many good scripts go unnoticed, and are shown occassionaly in art house theatres or film fesstivals that many do not get to attend. Cheers to Hulu for brining fine cinema like this movie for everyone to enjoy. Keep up the tremendous effort.

why do the crappie movies have 4 ads and the good movies have 20 ads...hmmm anyway. it's refreshing to see a movie that has good dialogue that you want to see and hear and actors that can speak it and keep up. Kudos. Bring back the time of the well made movie

Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full When dialogue was King
The marvelous thing about this movie was how it toyed with the viewer's mind in the same respect that toyed with Michael Caine's mind. He was about as lost as I was with the plot turns and camera tricks. It also played with stereotype villains and heroes, they acted their parts not as ROSIE, but as ROSIE ( the 40's gangster sidekick) and they did it marvelously, sorry for re-using that word twice in the paragraph, but it was simply marvelous. And the opening scene was amazing, so revolutionary...not having Main titles was genius, replacing the written words with a Humphrey Bogartesche character who just reads them off, ground braking, marvelously groundbreaking. This gave the movie a scene of reality even though it played to the stereotypes. The best new find of the movie for me was Timothy Carey. I ground braking actor who I had never heard of before. I IMDBed him and traced him to the movie DC cab...hulu should definitely post DC Cab, I'd love to watch it. Mr. T, Gary Busy and Paul Rodriguez together, what could be better. Hulu rocks! Best movie I've seen on the site yet.
