Yes, this series is one of the best anime has to offer. I often use this one to get friends interested as it really does have a good plot, well written story and unique characters that they'll love and hate. It doesn't matter if you're into the serious or the comedy, you'll enjoy it because both are here but don't overshadow the other. It's a perfect mix.
I really wish Hulu would get the other 10 episodes of this first season, it REALLY comes into it's own right about here. Lot's more background, Lot's more big Mecha battles and Lot's more short skirts *lecherous leer*. :))
