I'm no action freak and the trailers made it look shallow but I didn't want to go the elitist route. I also wanted to watch it because they made an mystical adventure film and I give them credit for going that far. I was surprised to see that it didn't suck. In fact, it was pretty entertaining.
I was glad they went with some nostalgic themes regardless of the cliche of being old hat. I still want to see films of the Indiana Jones type (not that last one though). It makes for a decent action movie. As for historical accuracy, storytelling is not about scrutinizing to documentary level. There are loads of movies set in France where the characters have English accents. Lighten up. I mean, if you work on a pirate ship or the death star, you're bound to go English.
Basically, I think the stigma of 'blockbuster' can misrepresent a movie that can actually be enjoyed.
