I've never met a Jimmy Stewart film I didn't like, and this one was no different! Although I am such a Stewart fan, Jeff Chandler delivered a fantastic performance as Cochise and stole the show in my book. The scenery is this movie was breathtaking, capturing the real beauty of the American southwest. The story was compelling, and, while I admit I don't know all the details of how it actually happened, I believe it was fairly historically accurate. Certainly this was one of the better westerns for its time, that didn't portray Native Americans as a savage, blood-thirsty people, but as people who were just trying to adjust to to the circumstances for their own survival. You might even say this was Dances With Wolves, 40 years earlier. This is a good movie for everyone to watch, whether you like westerns or not.
