When I say this film is inconsequential, it's because it doesn't give a big picture of the conflict in Iraq. However, it does give us an overview of a few fictional individuals, even if it's a bit superficial and stereotypical. It's authentic enough that I get the feeling this story has played out dozens or hundreds of times.
The locations added to the feeling of realism. Even though the script was unsurprising and the acting wasn't stellar, the setting gave me a very strong feeling of actually being there. That bit of novelty was enough to keep me watching from the confusing start to the unsatisfying end. It's responsible for at least two of the four stars in my rating.
