It saddens me that many of you on this site who have viewed this movie do not understand the concept. Some think that they are better producers than the ones featured or that none of the producers are musicians. I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion by visualizing snippets of each entity or individual. The gist of the film was based on underground producers and their ongoing struggle to break into the industry. It details the ups and down. Of course the film could not show every aspect of every individual or it would have been a 24hour long film. Some of you may just be better than some of the producers in the film or maybe not. But, the film was created to speak for you if you are trying to break into the industry. Someone (@Ros Mickens) below asked why didn't they get a producer who is known to be in the film. Well, I ask you, don't known individuals get enough shine? I was featured in the Documentary with my production brother Ricky Shabazz.(Green Tea Musik) He use to use fruity loops because hip hop has taught us to use whatever you have access to in order to make music until you're blessed enough to acquire more. I've been producing since '91 and have had placements here and there on projects. I do quit well now financially based on solid production. I sample and I use REAL live instrumentation. They actually have footage of me playing fluant guitar and rhodes with full chords. This footage did not make the film. Some below complained that it was already too long....everything could not have be incorporated. I also play Sax, trumpet, drums and bass as well. No pecking on the keys, I grew up playing in the Church of God in Christ where my grandfather was a pastor. I've never had a lesson and play better than a large percentage of people who've taken lesson's for many years. I get it that this film may have been boring, I also get that you have the right to critique as you see fit, but realize that most of us started producing before home studio systems such as protools were easy to acquire. I had 3 ADATs at one time to record tracks and vocals with. It was not a film for me to brag about the production I did but my struggle to get to the plateau I was at during that period of my life. We hoped that other producers no matter where you're from would see that you're not alone in your struggle. I refuse to call any of you haters, I just consider you as unaware. But it's cool, you may think you're nicer than me as a producer, but I have a nice collection of ATLiens and Northern East Coasters (NewYork, Philly, Baltimore, DC, etc ) who would beg to differ. Google Green Tea Musik or the group PRODUX (Blackfaces, Aim for the Soul) and judge for yourself. Or you can check out my Hip Hop based show "Table Scraps" on www.n8tion.com We talk about hip hop all day!!
