Just to start, this is more of a response to everyone who seems to think that Joyce is a terrible mother. Is everyone writing those things also 16 year old girls who are convinced that their parents "just don't understand" and have no idea what they're going through? Joyce is a great mother, I think. The proof is in how much effort she makes to be a part of Buffy's life. Lets look at the facts, here: Joyce doesn't know that Buffy is the slayer yet, so, to her, Buffy is just this juvenile delinquent that is always sneaking out, lying, dating older men (Angel) and doing terrible in school. And yet Joyce is just supposed to magically trust her daughter, let her do whatever she wants, and listen to her when she says she doesn't like her mom's new boyfriend. How is this making any sense? Of course Buffy is going to have issues with her mom dating; what teenage girl wouldn't? Notice how Xander's parents are alcoholics who fight all the time, and how Willow's parents ignore her because they have better things to do? See, those are bad parents. Buffy's mom? Good parent. I just wish that people would think about it a little more before they started bashing Joyce.
