Precisely. Wholeheartedly agree. This is what makes K-Dramas better and more involving -- in my opinion -- than Western television. And to the first poster .... what is so wrong about being "pure"? It's an Asian trait to value innocence and purity over American "brashness" or forwardedness, with their bulldozer approach towards everything. There are people who value or are more appreciative over the Asian's more subtle approach toward life: Americans and other races alike. Otherwise, why the popularity of these K-Dramas here in the U.S.? It has found an audience, perhaps a more mellow, more sensitive one that does not include the likes of you.   See 14 other replies

I wanted to respond to your comment and hopefully a couple of others that are making comments about American culture. Be careful, in any context saying the word MOST. Its generalizing and leads to stereotypes. Saying MOST GIRLS in the U.S. is inaccurate and based on a stereotype, one that has been perpetrated by the media. Just like in Korean drama, the impression or stereotype portrayed is purity in the female gender. This is not true for every Asian woman. But one may think that by watching a couple of dramas, attaching certain characteristics to a population in general, which is incorrect. Many of my friends are not and did not move at a "faster pace" or whatever that may actually mean to you. America is also full of many different cultures and religions and a stereotype (or a generalized characteristic) becomes even more complicated when considering these factors because everyone IS NOT the same. This is one of the reasons I love KDramas. They are able to provide the same tension between characters while being PG rated. When the characters actually kiss or hold hands it has more meaning than when you are watching the first episode of a show and they are making out 15 mins in.   See 14 other replies
