You can almost see the man working out in his head that he very well may have gotten in over his head. Here he is thinking that Jamie is just a simple wanker, and now he finds out that the comment "He's in the SAS" isn't only true, but that he's rather well up there, if they send a chopper to fetch him.

Um, Gold ... National Guard (military) units have been used rather often inside our own borders, and will continue to be as the need exists. And, perhaps if we had more Hannos out there, we'd have less "x-rays" to deal with in genera -- but especially including paying more than a lot of people in this country earn per year to legally represent (public/taxpayer defenders) and then (usually, as public defenders tend to suck) house them in already over-crowded state and federal prison systems ... wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit. I don't think that will happen. The SAS are used for this kind of situation in England because the British police while they carry fire arms in their patrol cars, and need permission to use them, don't have SWAT teams like we do. See 4 other replies

I was wondering, at the very least, why he didn't at least whip off his belt and apply a tourniquet himself as soon as he knew he was hit that badly. I suppose shock can freeze you from a lot of actions hindsight would tell anyone was "smarter", but it seems to me they'd all be carrying tourniquets, etc (min. trauma kit) in a cargo pocket -- God knows I would, just in case I had to do it for myself or someone else, and fast ... but again, it's all easy to say when you're not there, and pretty hard to tourney yourself when you're hit that badly, I'd imagine, too.

Still ... can't imagine rollin' over a team member like that when they're down. I "get it", but it goes against absolutely everything instinct'd be screamin' at me to do. See 6 other replies
