This band of extremely well trained military mercenary misfits cross the globe fighting battles that even our special ops would not touch. From the first episode to the last season, there is no disappointing moment. We follow the professional and personal lives of men who love their work, but sometimes, not their purpose. I love the episode in which Henno describes the people he risks his life for as "pudgy little maggots" and tells how much he hates them. The scene in which Ed dies and Henno tries to calm the soldier's mother is hillarious. As he chases her down to offer condolences, the mother remembers something about her son and him. "He was scared of you" she cries, Henno says, "He had a great sense of humor" but the mother replies, "No, he hated you!" Why I found that funny is a compliment to the brilliant infusion of humor in this gritty, earth moving drama.
This drama is well directed, well acted, with fabulous action and scenery. 5 Stars for even the naughty language and even more naughty nudity. This awesome drama, set in some of the most exotic and terrorist driven regions on the planet, takes us on the journey of our lives.
