"Murdering merc"? Are you an extremist lib, or simply stupid? It's thanks to over 120,000 PMC's and other civilian security experts that we're not losing more military men and women every day than we already are. They're tasked to do the things and protect the people that we need handled, while our trained military units are focusing on the overall tactical objectives, as dwindling forces have necessitated privatization in certain areas. And yes, it's caused friction between PMC's and standard military commanders at times, and, yes, they do it for money, and yes, there are a few substandard foreign outfits not even fit for duty as mall cops, but, ALSO yes, most of them do it at incredible risk to their own lives in order to help protect and save others -- military and civilian alike. Over 300 reported dead thus far in Iraq alone (many more NOT counted), but can you say "Fullujah" even ONCE, know what it means, and yet still call them all "murdering mercs"? 2-man instead of standard 3-man teams that day, no armored SUV's, and no rear-gunners -- and still, they went on to do the job, all of them blown to hell, with their burned corpses hung for all you claim they "murder" to laugh, cheer and gloat over as they posted it all on the web for their families back home to see. If you know nothing of what PMC's truly do, which is patently obvious ... go live in China, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, Somalia -- or some equally wretched place where you apparently belong. Wow, if you've been involved in so much training you'd know better then to just call a PMC a murdering mercenary. After all they are responsible for most of our state department security overseas when it's a no-go for marines to leave the embassy locked and loaded. Just like Armies and Soldiers, there are good Companies and Contractors, and bad ones. Effective ones, and incompetent ones.By the way, two tours in Iraq with 2/327th INF BN, and we give a rat's behind about some instructors terminology. To be honest when it's hot downrange, everything gets shortened into one syllable words that your Drill Sergeant would never let you use in basic training. Mag, Clip, Clay, Belt, Round, Frag, Brad, etc etc etc...Have fun being the word police.   See 17 other replies
