This film should be judged on the "merits" of the Satan Film genre rather than the close-minded, often self-aggrandizing criticism levied upon us by do-gooding, non-Satan film watchers. To begin, we must define the 70's satan film criteria:1) Gratuitous breast shot in first five minutes. Race with the devil, Satanic rites of dracula, The Devils Rain all begin with this staple. Check +1 star
2) Out of work or unemployed yet up and coming ham actor runs around in a desperate and perhaps futile attempt to stop Satan. Race with the devil -- Peter Fonda, Satanic rites-- Christopher Lee, Devils Rain -- Shatner AND Borgnine. Tom Selleck = Check +1 Star
3) Creepy music and odd shot choices. This film has at least 7 shots following the overweight maid's butt. Check +1 star.
4)References to Salem, the number 666, a painting or book that serves as an evolving information source as spouse continually attempts to kill husband and participate in fertility rites and/or befriends satanic animal. Check + 1 star.
5) Satan wins in the end. You will see this more in the made for tv Satan Films so I suppose this film can be forgiven. N0 -1 star.So you see, judged on its merits, this is a four star film.

"I'm a cat man myself. I've never had a cat bark at me or take a chunk out of my a$$." Classic line for Magnum. The cheese-o-meter is off the scale in this screwy story. My only curiosity is that they must've paid the other witch helper to bare her breasts and throw herself at Magnum. And Magnum in an uncharacteristic way doesn't sleep with her? That's absurd. If they went all out and Magnum converted or metamorphed into Satan then it wouldve earned 5 wacky stars. Notice how the pistol he pulls out of the nightstand is a .357 Magnum? Hmm... Magnum's quirky character is all over this film. Everyone else is about as 2-dimensional as flimsy cardboard standups with ditzy acting and lines. Say, didn't Magnum P.I. have a doberman like that dog in his show? After watching this film I found myself humming the Magnum P.I. theme song. Awesome.

when you watch these older movies you expect the quality of the newer released movies and some become dissapointed in the acting and style of the film i enjoyed this film although it does take a while to get into it because of the lack of the extreme suspense used in newer films to grab your attention

Not enough Satan. Not enough nudity. Not enough of a plot to justify a film this long -- and this movie is waaay too long. Skip ahead often...
They should have just made a porno -- they had mustaches and raunchy 70's bimbos and everything. I'll give it a D+ for the bosoms.

Tom Selleck is in this. I had to rerun the credits to check, but he had to start some where. I think he got taller in Magnum PI. (Magnum PI ALSO on HULU :) )

this movie was very stupid as well as boring what a waste of time!

He went into an 'antique' shop in Manila, and paid $75 american dollars for that painting...Thats like a bajillion dollars in pesos at that time, add to the fact that he wrote a check and you have an unbelievable interaction with a shop owner that looks like he's straight out of central casting.Nice to see the old stomping grounds back in its 'glory' days...What a place to have fun, all day, all night for under $20 american dollars...Hoo ha.
