I first caught this back in the '90s on IFC, I believe. I enjoyed it enough that I bought a copy on VHS (in the days before DVDs went mainstream). It may not be a "laugh out loud" comedy throughout its running time, but it has a subtlety to its humor that gets at you and makes you chuckle at the absurd antics of the bible epic's cast and crew, especially its director and producer. It's a well done satire of the follies involved with making a movie, especially a big-budget flop in the hands of Hollywood's most inept production team. So many of the gags -- particularly the one of Moses and the 6-pack of Coke on the mountaintop -- brilliantly poke fun at concepts like product placement long before criticizing their overuse in modern films became commonplace. It's definitely worth viewing, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially folks that like every single joke and gag spelled out for them.
