When all was said and done I liked it sure there are somethings that i didn't like about it but nothing can be perfect. The visual art style for the series was amazing in my opinion. The story was good but did slow down too much for my liking. I also wanted to see the resolution to the conflict so bad that it did make me angry to see the story end the way that it did. I wanted to know how the two of main characters became cripple and the outcome of their final battle. I guess this was a set up for the second season??? An impressive point that this anime made to me was the daily life of a Japanese swordsman in times of peace and how hard it was to merely stay afloat and preserve the name of one's dojo. It also explored various aspects of the human condition and aspects. How far one is willing to go to achieve what they desire. The amount of loyalty showed by the members of the Kogan style was truly remarkable to me. I wouldn't be able to look at the guy who just caught my mouth open without harboring any animosity and even crying when I found out he was dead. That old man was one of the sickist characters I've seen in a long time. He was a demon in true form no doubt.
