Jim Clendenen is one of the best winemakers in the world, but trust me, he likes to be reminded of it. He was sooo fishing for that compliment. I used to rep his wines and he treated the reps like dirt. Every other winemaker was completely different, but we were instructed that he was a "rockstar", and was only to be spoken to by management. We were only to speak to him if he first spoke to us. It was really bizarre, as most winemakers rely on us to get their product out and even come on ride-alongs with reps to our most important clients. He makes the best Chardonnay in the world, and I'll drink it in a new york minute, but I can't stand his attitude.
