Herbert Marshall, Robert Horton, and Jarma Lewis all did a good job with this--especially Marshall. He had a very long film career after he lost a leg in WWI, and was a contemporary of Basil Rathbone, Ronald Colman, and Claude Rains. Contrary to the story here, in real life, Marshall is said to have married five times and have outlived his last wife.
