I thought this series was rather droll. I saw the English adapted movie years ago, and thought well of it, though much seemed to be lost in translation. That being said, I looked forward to seeing this entire series in it's original Japanese. I watched it in it's entirety in 2 days, and unfortunately, was left wanting and dissatisfied. I now wonder if this series was "edited down" for U.S. audiences. I did not see any of the scenes that I remember from the movie, nor did I see any of the more graphically violent scenes that I had seen in the previews. All in all, this series was a beautiful bust.
