It took 13 episodes, including this aptly named one, for me to fully come to embrace "Trauma". Is it a perfect, by-the-book medical show? No. But tonight, I really feel like I saw the show -- and its characters -- come of age. Rabbit learns a few lessons...and about himself. Nancy finally gets called on that sense of entitlement that I've been grumbling about all season (yeah, big deal...she graduated from med school. Doesn't mean a thing without boards, internships, and residencies...as so nicely pointed out by the junior doc on the trauma team...whom it was great to see step up!) and Boone and Tyler display that great chemistry they have. Tonight was all about the characters and their inner-workings. it's like the producers finally realized that you don't HAVE to have big explosions or crazy, adrenaline-filled accident/injury scenes to draw people in. It was great to see that aspect a bit more subdued.
All in all, a wonderful episode for me..top it all off with the fact that Mr. Kevin "Roy DeSoto" Tighe makes a guest appearance, and it's a slam dunk!
