Toy Boat, Toy Boat, Toy Boat
Yeah, the effects are pretty rank, but for a goofy Saturday-matinee kinda deal, not too shabby... especially when the prehistoric Hooter's queen shows up about a third of the way in... plus partly made at the Pinewood Studios... in London... in 1977... say isn't that Admiral Motti (Richard Parmentier) and Darth Vader (David Prowse) lurking around the ship and lava dome, respectively? This is what they must've done as a warm-up to Star Wars... or maybe the letdown afterwards. Silly monsters with trombone voices, goofy action and an explosive finale... plus those aforementioned pneumatic tah-tahs make this one movie to make fun of, as long as you don't expect much -- just don't whine about losing 91 minutes of your life, because... you were warned! And enjoy the incredible (as in NOT CREDIBLE... at ALL) model/miniature work, too. (toy boat, toy boat, toy boat... toy plane, toy dinosaur, toy arrows... yeah. The Merchandising That Time Forgot. FIVE CHEESE RATING!
