It is true that the main protagonist of this story is a girl surrounded by guys, and so it is of course targeted toward a female audience, but truthfully, this show was recommended to me by my brother, who usually watches the more action-packed, male based animes. He's even told me that he can't read the hunger games because the main character is a girl,and that he's going to have trouble watching the Legend of Korra because he's not going to be able to relate to Korra and her relationships with the guys. But he really liked this anime. It is easy to like the relationships Haruhi develops over time with all the boys and also, the show has light hearted comedy, some darker comedy (mostly pervy), and touching moments between friends an family (such as Kyoya and Tamaki's friendship and the Twins' realization that they can have friends despite their twisted view of things).
All in all I'd say that if you enjoy comedy, friendships, watching people discover life time changes, and banana peels, you'll enjoy Ouran High School Host Club.

I was really excited when i found out that hulu had subtitled episodes of ouran high school host club. Its by far my favorite anime/manga ever!!!

wow this is... oh my gosh i should have known... this is the most messed up anime i have ever EVER watched... i cant imagine how someone can think up this.... ahk... are they really a bunch ( insert word for those guys that get paid to... you know...) how can someone make this in to a anime and whats with the randome arrow pointing to the... vaise? oh my gosh this is so weird... ahhh

this would be something completely different that what I normally watch. It was suggested to me by my girlfriend. It's not what I would normally watch, but I think I'll stick with it. So, were to begin. This show moved in pretty quick to it's main purpose. I like the idea of the host club, mostly because I think I could be a member. But any ways, I guess it is a club just for guys to entertain girls because our main character here.. well, seems to be one, A twist I didn't see until it was to obvious. I didn't know what to expect of course. Lets just see if she can get that 1,000 that of course, was only raised to keep her around. Dio Omicida -out-
(Going to go ahead and state my opinion.. When looking at this show, I picked out the dubbed episodes. Either one is fine, it only matters to me which I start off with, I just prefer dubbed if I can get it)
