but the writing varies from mediocre to passable. In this particular episode:
1. "We should go be with our families." What families? This world has its own Quinn and Wade, and if it doesn't then they are either dead or never existed, in which case your appearance will hardly be welcome. So where was Quinn's family? The house conveniently sitting empty, with the power turned on?
2. Why not just advance the timer and slide out? We've been told the consequences are unpredictable. Hardly worse than the end of the world!
3. Even if the Manhattan project failed, someone else (Soviets or Europeans) would have invented the bomb.
4. She goes to kiss him then turns away? I don't think so. She's been wanting it since they met.
5. They all stand outside and gaze directly at a nuclear explosion? Hasn't the public been warned to stay indoors? The professor didn't bother to tell them about possible blindness and nuclear fallout?
Bad writing spoils an otherwise great idea.
The emporer is said to be ready to give up by the time we drop the bombs. The dropping of both bombs was unnecessary and costly on a few levels. Its not so easy to say its payback was greater then its overall cost.
