Yes there was less time spent with filler episodes where nothing seems to push the plot along. or if anything just a scrape further than last episode, like in the past seasons. But I did enjoy their new remade look and the story was epic from start to finish. I dont like the idea of calling one Revolution and the other Evolution R since both seasons are so closely tied together. But the end result was grand and epic. I cheered Lina till the very end and found the ending, with the future of more slayers quite lifting. Good job guys and please don't make us wait 10 more years for the next season.

waiting 10 years to pick up an amine is way too long. it was not as strong as the other three and never brought up the relationship between zel and Amelia. as a matter of fact it didn't even build on Lina's and gourry's relationship. it seems like they were trying to copy the new animes and make it more darker because the first three were hilarious, while this one seemed to get a good chuckle every now and then. in try xellos meet a golden dragon and they had a love/hate relationship. that is why i watched the anime because it had a human, comedy, action and love story to it.
now for the plot it also seems to be sub par as i feel that some fights were scripted to give zel and Amelia more screen time. also there are gaping holes that are never filled, characters that needed to be reintroduced and it was missing holy magic. by the way the blue hair girl in seyrun knows the dragon slay, too ( it was in slayers revolution). it wasn't a bad season, just good compared to the other three which were balanced and excellent. i just felt confined like put in a room looking at the same boring place the whole time and pokota was so annoying and boring. well to sum it all up it just wasn't slayers as i was expecting. it was still good, but if you are lucky enough to stop at slayers: try, then do so. if you are curious then good luck because it never closes any plot holes (except the main ones) and it never refreshes your memory from 10 years ago. :(
