Steven Strait is a great actor, really. I just wish someone would give him a good part for once. This movie was about as real as Pamela Anderson's breasts. It was way too cheese. The lyrics of the songs were tired and infantile, and throughout the entire film there wasn't a single moment of genuineness. It all felt very passe and predictable, and the love story made no sense whatsoever. Attraction and love in relationships just doesn't work that way in real life. You kind of want to stick around to catch those tiny glimpses of Steven Strait's perfectly full lips here and there, but not even that makes this worth sitting through an hour and a half of Ashley Simpson's inauthenticity and amateur vocal abilities. I speak for myself when I say that not even a real struggling musician can relate to this guy. I think you should skip this one.
