A bad story
It's not about talent, it's about hype. That was the lesson taught by this movie. This movie would have been like-able if the guy became famous because people noticed his talent and not the hype around him. With a lot of singers it is all hype, because it is necessary. They way they portrayed him, he shouldn't have needed the hype to get himself sold.
Bad writing, bad story.

One of My favorite lesser known movies...
I really liked this movie. I thought it was really cute, and Steven Straight was really good in this. It's not a very popular movie, and it's not one typical of Hollywood, but it's really cute, and it's one of my favorite movies that never really got big. I think that's part of it's charm though.
