The Day the Earth Stood Still: Klaatu Arrives

I just saw the remake last night and was really excited, but despite a very strong opening 30 minutes, the story switches its focus to the little kid and it becomes far too family based cutsie crap for the remainder of the film. Keanu was actually great, and Gort was awesome, but the Mom and her adopted kid side story completely ruined it. The preview for 2012 they showed before the film was actually was better overall than the new version of this film.

I CANT WAIT FOR THE REMAKE...I HOPE IT WILL BE JUST AS GOOD AS THIS ONE.

This is the best Sci-Fi movie ever made right up to the present day. And the messgae he tried to explain is so true. "Our planet will be reduced to a burned out cinder"

message that still resonates to this day....
