Warning: This movie is a little more high brow for some who may just want a cheap slapstick comedy.
It is fairly funny if you have an educated sense of humor. I was laughing a bit even from the beginning. Bad ratings are from people who like to create and should be watching drama.
honestly; there is a reason that some films are just never shown in theatres. It was well done, the casting was excellent, an A for tech. , but it left me dissatisfied. The tone is very grim, but sadly not tempting (And I love dark humor.) I chose to watch this movie last on Hulu because it looked to be exactly what it is an overall B- because it just missed the mark.
It's definitely not a traditional comedy. I would describe it as a "dark, kooky satire b-movie". Do not expect big laughs. There are alot of strange characters throughout the film. And your enjoyment of it will depend on whether you like their quirky ways or not.
The real question is: how did they get so many big names to appear in this 2nd-rate production?? Someone had a helluva lotta connections to pull this one off!!!!
Donald Sutherland as the judge?? A huge talent was given nothing to do! Maybe he and Martin Sheen only signed up for this because the big Brando was in it too??
