Granted some of these last episodes deviates from the mainstream traditional science fiction (very opposite of first season e,g. their lift off from Alpha ctrl from Earth and invaders from 5th dimension was the epitome of science fiction-gloomy, black and white, music background everything in place), but the newer episodes lost some of that tradional sci-fi steam. However, I still find the later episodes amusing because of the family love, cohesion, simple laughter in the Robinsons. Seeing them how they carried out the lines and drama, always gave me peace and warmth that reminds me of home. They were simply a good family-real people (not far fetched) with decent values. So in all fairness, though it may have decreased with sci-fi atmosphere, the fun, loving respect among them especially John Robinson to hold the family together and good leader concluded the entire program with satisfaction. Irwen Allen was brilliant because he must of thought of something beyond any science fiction writer, when he had just a simple family pose as the main characters, instead of wierd looking aliens (half human with long ears, scaly skin, etc like Star Trek), because I can still view full blown science fiction if all the characters aren't alien-appearance like.
