... or, Don Helps Smith Get It On, and the Good Dr. Guzzles Some Suspicious Fluids ...A lighter episode with lots of humor, and the typical LIS penchant for throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Even the tense beginning, with the Jupiter 2 trying to evade a homing missle, had its funny moments: I had to laugh that no one thought of "strapping in" while everyone was being flung around the cabin, and at Penny trying to anchor herself by hanging onto to those yellow blocks or whatever they were sticking out of the wall. Once on the new planet -- and let me digress for a second to note that in season two the Space Family Robinson is really trucking like the Dooda Man: they've visited three different planets in four episodes, compared to season one in which they spent the entire time on a single alien world -- they encounter a one-man cabaret, a growling spider, and giant bird that quacks like Burgess Meredith's Penguin from "Batman". Also, I think that's the same bird costume, maybe with some slight modifications, that was used for an episode of "Bewitched" featuring a medicinal Macedonian Dodo.Someone noted some plot illogicality in a previous review; what about the big deal that was made about wearing a breathing device while walking around in the alien atmosphere, yet Will struts on out there sans one and suffers no ill effects?Finally, a major high point for me was seeing Dr. Smith's electric disco groin.

I see what you are talking about, right at the end the Robot would not have allowed Will to stand so close to Dr. Smith when he checked to see if Smith were still explosive.
Still, through all the corny monsters and all, Lost in Space was a favorite of mine, and I looked forward to watch it each Saturday night.

Will asks Robot if he would really blow up Dr.Smith and Robot says no, which implies he might have been playing a joke on Smith, only pretending to blow him up.Also, if Robot was really going to do it, he would have needed an order from one of the Robinsons. By the way I hate that bird creature!

A real flaw occurs at the end of this episode. After Dr. Smith takes the neutralizing pills, Will just stands near him as the Robot tests the detinater. This makes no sense. Surely, the Robot at least, would have waved Will away from Smith or Will would have been blown up along with Smith. A deiate script error. They had no way of knowing the pills would work!!
If anyone can come up with another explation for this gaffle, let me know.
