I saw this episode when I was about four years old and of course if grown adults find it scary, it totally terrified me! What scared me the most, besides the idea that a doll could be so evil, was that the doll made me think of the Mrs. Beasley, the doll from the television show "Family Affair." One of my sisters had a full-size Mrs. Beasley doll and I guess the blond hair and grin reminded me the doll in this Night Gallery episode. I called it the Teeth Doll, and it kept me up at night as I imagined it flying through the air outside my bedroom window and then knocking at my window. I also just discovered a disturbing coincidence. When I googled "Family Affair," I found a synopsis of the show that explained that when the actor playing Mr. French fell ill, they brought in another actor to replace him. This actor was John Williams who plays the Uncle/Colonel in The Doll! Maybe my mind also connected this episode to "Family Affair" because the same actor was in both. However, John Williams was supposed to have appeared in 1967 when Family Affair began, and I was born that year. Unless they showed repeats, I would not have seen him when I started watching the show three or so years later when I saw The Doll. Creepy!
