truth be told, movies between 1930 and 1970 had plenty of violence. they may not have contained blood and gore, but they definitely contained violence--murder, shootings, stranglings, people knocked down stairs, arson...you name it, it's there. i would defy any filmmaker to do a story about the old testament bible without including sex and violence.
i also can't seem to understand why any semblance of nudity is regarded as sex. being nude is not the same as being engaged in intercourse and one can have intercourse without being nude. i won't go into detail, but intelligent minds know i'm telling the truth. a man and woman can have sexual gratification without removing all of their clothes. however, you'd look like a fool bathing in your underwear.
by the way, before the hayes code and joseph breen's repressive hysteria, there was nudity in films. nudity is widely displayed in classical works of art and why should art in movies be any different. yes, i could stand to see a lot less violence in movies and on tv, but the human body will always be a thing of beauty to me and i'm not just speaking about the nubile and the perky. in madrid, there are sixty year old grandmothers who go to the nude beaches and they aren't self-conscious in the least. they understand that the human body is not something that needs to be hidden away under sackcloth and ashes.
oh, yeah, this episode was decent, but of course rod serling has done far better...
