I like both, especially since English language dubs have been gradually improving. They're trying a lot harder to bridge the cultural gap while staying true to the original material. It's not easy but I think they've had various measures of success. It's probably easier w/ an anime that's set in a high school or some other modern setting rather than a fantasy or period piece. That being said, this one isn't that bad and I think it suffers from the usual timing awkwardness. Whether you like subs or not is very much dependent on whether you like subs or not in the first place; personally I really like subs even in things that are in languages I understand b/c I can read pretty quickly and sometimes I might miss something if I were say, laughing at a joke. What is annoying however, is if the timing is wrong and it spoils the suspense.   See 6 other replies

About the caps -- you can try experimenting with various forms of emphasis like _underlining_your_words_, using . periods . like . this , *or* *stars* -- etc. until you get a style you're comfortable with.Or scruit -- the noobiest thing you did was to apologize about something only a troll would (female canine) about.   See 9 other replies

I have absolutely no problem fully enjoying a movie or show and reading subs. Of course I have a lot of experience reading...also the American voice actors pale in comparison to the original.   See 6 other replies

I used to really enjoy subbed anime, but due to some vision problems I cant read subtitles quickly enough to keep up with the story flow anymore.I think Hulu should try to keep both formts open so people can choose   See 6 other replies

I can't watch anime with subtitles. I want to WATCH the show, not read the show. Is HULU putting anime on for a few hardcore fans that want to watch them in the orginal Japanese or read tiny subtitles or for most of their audience. Anime will always be a nitch if it doesn't get mainstream. I used to be in Anime Fan Club. We where over joyed when they had movies with Subtitles. Yeah! No reading bad translations while watching the film. Then they came out with Dubbs. It was wonderful! Now we could actually watch the movie! We could understand what the film was about. We could get the message that the film-maker was trying to get across. Horse and Buggys are great for nostalgia, but most of us will take a car thank you. Besides, how can you understand the intent of the movie, if you Can't Understand the Movie! Art is great, but if is not in a media that the observer can see and understand then it is worthless.
