What network a show was aired on and the owning/production company are two different things. Yes Sliders was part of the Fox Network's on-air programming, but if you actually wait until the end of the credits it was produced, owned and distributed by Universal Television - then An MCA Company - now part of the lovely media merged NBC/Universal multi-media empire. Well at least on this earth, I can't say if the NBC logo will appear on others you may slide to!   See 8 other replies

First of all, the people a FOX dd not rearrange the episodes for the sake of continuity. They did it for the ratings. Sliders was a new show and they wanted the ratings as high as possible for the first several episodes. So they played the ones first that they thought would attract the most viewers. Second, we don't know how long they stayed in the "Oh so close, but not quite" world before they decided to try another jump (to the spider-wasp world). I doubt if it happened like this:
1. Dad walks in the door
2. Quinn drops his wine in slow motion.
3. They all walk out side and jump through the wormhole.I would have stayed in that relatively peaceful world for a while before jumping again, discuss the possible solutions with the Prof. use the basement lab to fix the timer, get a cheesesteak, hang out with dead dad and mom, maybe explain to them where THEIR Quinn went, ......   See 8 other replies

Watch the first season in this order, they make more sense. 1. "Sliders" (two-hour pilot episode)
2. "Summer of Love"
3. "Prince of Wails"
4. "Fever"
5. "Last Days"
6. "The Weaker Sex"
7. "Eggheads"
8. "The King is Back"
9. "Luck of the Draw"
Thomas is right, FOX showed them out of order to boost the ratings on the first episodes that it aired. Now HULU is posting them based on the original air date. I wish that they would correct this. They have done this kind of rearrangement for other series.   See 2 other replies

This was one of those shows that the family got together and watched every week. I have fond memories of watching Sliders, MacGyver, Quantum Leap, The Outer Limits and a few others that don't immediately come to mind, but we watched them as a family when I was young.
