LOOOOVED this one!
The whole cast is amazing, I have to say that....you can never go wrong by watching DH, someone will always impress or move you. But this one, I was looking for the episode with Tom and Lynette's clarification on the motives women have for dating a man and that adorable, cocky scene when he took over to give that great little pep talk to his son!. He is pure heart and he is ALWAYS consistent in that role.. BUT....the poor guy was deluded for so long...and it was so much fun to hear her explain things to him and to see his face 'illuminated" or the lightbulb go on! ;-) Lynette and Tom are amazing together. And I have to say....I dont know who writes the script but they do a GREAT JOB.
That was an invaluable lesson for men and I do believe that Tom is the caring kind of guy. There is another great scene from the past when he was telling Roy why he lets Lynette control things. That little speech showed how much analytical insight and caring it takes to make a marriage work!!!! They are beautiful and inspiring together, from the day he hopped on her and she punched him...well you have to see the one with the funeral and where all the bunnies/kids were in the pool at the funeral and she had to waddle in with her Haute Couteur dress to get them. Of course Tom was away and eager to see her, but he just did not know how drained and irate she was when it came to kids and anything that might lead to having more them! ;-) They are a blast and real!!!
Then there is Susan...who wanted to save "the stripper" because she saw her humanity only to let her jealousy strip her humanity once again. Robin's words were didactic and Susan realized how her insecurity turned her into the most worst friend of the year. You also got a glimpse of how 9 yrs of being a stripper might make you behave in a way that is too friendly and that coming from such a backround does not incite the greatest confidence from others. Another lesson....if you can't accept someone as they are, dont even bother playing the angel and that there are is a reason that only a few have the disposition to be great conselors or healers!
Besides the backrubbing, there was an element of Buddhism that came to mind. As I saw Susan failing miserably in her endeavors with Robin, I couldn't help but think of what had transpired between her and Katherine in the past! They were once good friends whose relationship went South over a man. And here she is now with a stripper whom she is trying to re-establish into the world. This rebirth is kind of the extreme antithesis as the breakdown of Katherine. The timing of this project is curious and it is almost like she has a Karmic debt to pay for herself even though she is not the one at odds with society...
The pairing of Katherine and Robin as friends? This was very fun to watch. Even though I think Katherine was unfair to her by blurting a few things with those shallow men....WISDOM came from the most amazing source. The way Robin retaliated to that....made me burst with laughter! Not only was it wise, but unlike SUSAN, she proved to be a LOYAL friend when it came to men! I think that was a great experience and restoration for Katherine's wounded psyche!!! It's been a long time since I've been that surprised and amazed....... but based on her past I cant picture Katherine pursuing it further. I dont see the chemistry only gratitude for having someone stronger/healthier yet similarly unconventional to support her, very symbiotic. This could lead to lots of constructive prospects for Katherine, I am curious about her future actions! lol.
My tribute goes to the writers!***** They really packed alot of fun material in this one! The only thing that bugged me as well, as well as others was Orson's acting but you have to remember he IS handicapped and there is a bit of tactful alluding here to his past work! Personally,
I love this actor..... Kyle Maclaughlin from Show Girls among other projects, and although we are supposed to by annoyed and bored......he is miserable, anyone would be and has not accepted his recent handicap still going through the phases of mourning, so it's realistic in that sense!!! I still found that scene with Bree's "inspired" idea very comical! lol. Of course it was awkward, she was doing something completely out of her element and something that when Robin described it, seemed like a genius idea. It's the effort that counts and that she was willing to go to extremes to rekindle the romance! Hmmm......his reaction though again....was the antithesis to that with Elizabeth Berkeley. Veeeeery deja-vu and very risque for DH. ;-)))))
Robin.....I loved this character...she is promising....and as wonderful as the narrator explained in the end with more tact and beauty than I ever can.. Her presence was a refreshing, tumultuous whirlwind for all. The power of ONE soul eh?
