Alright, I can live with Minmay's accent on account of what usually happens in dubbed anime singing. But good god, the corny, weeaboo translations and how ridiculously they're delivered? It could almost pass as a parody, being about as "faithful" a dubbing of '80s anime as you can get; nobody would believe the lines and voice acting are from 2005. Instead it's just a reminder of how backwards ADV was, finally keeling over in their own filth. Too bad they sat on and smeared so many popular series along the way.
Until I looked it up I had to wonder if Harmony Gold sponsored the dub to make sure America would always prefer Robotech. Good effort reaching out to a different group, Hulu, and I know the majority of anime fans are illiterate. But even they might have preferred subtitles in this case.
