A loosely wound Bollywood production of the Wachowskis' 1996 "Bound" with none of the style or sexual tension. Vasant Chheda gets the writer/director screen credit, but the IMDB credits Govind Menon as director. More rip-off than homage, whoever the responsible party, the original material has been transformed into a thudding gag movie.
The story. A mob accountant's moll seeks a romance of opportunity to escape the loveless accountant. New paramour is recruited for moll's set-for-life heist to steal mob money and frame accountant. Money is stolen. Everything goes wrong.
The good news, no sudden Bollywood dance numbers.
"Danger" does not strain at style or character, so that leaves the story mechanics. The mechanics are awful.
For example, the movie begins with an omniscient narrator, who does a little existential mood-setting, which the movie never takes up as a theme. Seven minutes later the narrator shows up for his first appearance. This all-knowing character has almost no instrumentality in the film and spends most of his screen time on the other end of abbreviated phone conversations with his partner-in-crime. Phone conversations, missed calls, and calls not answered comprise a good deal of the film's action.
If you have seen "Bound", then "Danger" is worth a look to compare how and where Mr. Chheda has altered the original.
Otherwise, skip.
