Being a white American woman once married to a Pakistani man and having had one son and one daughter I can certainley relate to this movie. lol Believe me, many of the situations in this movie are sooooo true to live. My son is now 28 and daughter is 33 and they laugh at what they endured when they were younger at the hands of their Father due to the cultural differences. I as Mother was always there as a buffer trying to keep the peace and therefore keeping our family together. Sorry to that we are no longer together as a married couple, the cultural differences finally did come between us, and it was and usually is cultural and not religious problems. Our children turned out to be great kids, they are the pride and joy of my life and they are anxious to watch Shades Of Ray after walking into my room and seeing exerpts from the movie. I know they'll laugh at some of the true to life situations that their own daddy's put them thru..lol
