The Academy: My O'miley

I watched from the first episode up until this one (the 3rd). This show just follows the same formulae all of Foxs reality shows follow: Focus on the weak. Why not format the show to revolve around star candidates within the Sheriffs Academy and include cut-scenes of the misfits failing out?

I hear you, I'm doing the Marine Corp Officer School this summer and the physical examination that we have to pass at the beginning is WAY harder than what they're asking these guys to do.

It is beyond my comprehension as to how the Academy admits these out-of-shape recruits. While l lived in another state, I applied to be a corrections officer. Before we even went through the interview process, not only did we have to pass a rigorous written and psychological test, but we FIRST had to pass the running/physical test. If we didn't pass those, they dismissed the failing candidates before the written tests even began. So, again, I can't understand how such over-weight candidates made it into the academy. I just don't get it.

In all honesty, I'm a bit disappointed in what they go through. The Fire Academy seems a bit more competitive and the recruits would run circles around all of these guys. My respect for FF has skyrocketed, while my little love (hyperbole) for law enforcement has diminished. My gosh. These people seem like weaklings in society.

What Gracia did... was just amazing. She has what it takes, inside of her is the hero that we need on the streets. I'm just amazed.

Out of all the time they are filming, they pick the bet segmetns that would make for a decent time. People need to be able to watch the show and be interested with what is going to happen. Of course most of the things that they will show is when someone screws up. They certainly wont show an hour worth of boring class work where no one does anything that would create decent television. In the end the epople watching need to be entertained by what they are watching. This show is very good for that reguards. They show some epic mistakes that are met again with epic blastoffs by the drill instructors.
