Interesting tale, but it seems odd that the description describes her having an interest in the daughters.

This Hitchcock episode brings to public awareness something that usually occurs at the very fringes of society's notice, with terribly tragic results for all involved. Initial joy turns to psychosis for the lonely lady at the center of this touching drama, and the luminous Gena Rowlands is a young mother caught in the maelstrom's wake. Still so relevant today.
