Funny you say that. Something similar happened to Star Trek the original series with a low budget whereas shows like Mission Impossible had a high budget. I guess that sort of help make Star Trek great because they had to focus more on plots, script, and acting. Though the series did get cancelled early but as people grew to apreciate the show it really took off. Even by today's standards it's still a great show. I also love the Time Tunnel even if they didn't have CGI back then or overly expensive sets. The only thing I didn't like was that they often ended up in Wild West or early American type things which felt similar to a ton of other shows of the time, and/or like a history lesson. I did like it when they traveled to the future or the moon. Also the episode where they ended up in a town in the US State of Maine in which aliens took over was pretty cool. But for the most part I loved the premise and the acting, but often got a little bored of "when" & "where" they landed.
