I clearly remember watching this game. I lived in Japan, and it came on at around 2 or 3am. I was going to tape it, but I was up late, and started watching it. I've been a Steelers fan since childhood . Plus, having later lived near Baltimore, I could not in good conscientiousness support the team that Bob Irsay had smuggled out of Baltimore in the middle of the night.
Nonetheless, I totally got sucked in. It was not the best played game I'd seen, but it sure was the most exciting, scrappy, heartfelt one by two amazing teams. I had to give Jim Harbaugh a lot of credit for keeping his team in contention until the last second.
I'm not surprised to hear him say that he had fun playing that game. Thousands must have had fun watching it.
I appreciated the insights of the various players, Coaches Cowher and Marchibroda, and the official on that last Hail Mary. My only beef with this coverage was the film makers playing with the speed of the players. While sometimes slowing it down helps make it easier to see how they run patterns, it takes away from the sense of drama.
I hope that VHS tape I made of the game hasn't been taped over.
