There was a ton of depth in this series but thanks to its brevity there was little time to build any sort of a relationship with any of the characters. In the end I enjoyed the story but found its telling to be less then satisfying. Had the series been even twelve episodes rather than six then they could get into the details of the background and the lost technology rather than just telling you about it. The best example of this is the quick change of sides the twin androids undertook when the professor dies. With some length this could have been a weighty and heated undertaking, but rather it was more along the lines of "hey they are on our side now" "cool". I have not read the manga but from what I can see it was much lengthier and the anime producers decided to cram pack it into very few episodes.

This series could have been great. The story line was good. The animation was fantastic, but the ending killed it. I find myself felling sorry I even wasted the time watching it. Although to be honest, much of the anime I watch lately leaves we feelling the same way.

what a bloody stupid ending. What kind of computer has a kill everything on earth switch on it? and who designs something like that without a wait a minute lets think about this first switch or at least a maybe that was a dumb idea lets not kill the world switch? No wonder the old world wet kablooey. Then what everything disappears when you shut it off what kind of logic is that not that i should really expect any from this anime at this point. Even if the old technology draws power from it they should just eventually run down or something not disappear to dimension x. It was an ok show but only that ok.

For the first half of Murder Princess it's a pretty good show, not great but certainly worth watching. There isn't a whole lot of story in the first three episodes, but it's decent enough if you can watch for just the "cool factor" (which I did). However, around episode 4 and on (mainly episodes 4 and 6, but a bit of 5) the actual story starts, and that's where it starts to get kind of stupid. If you keep watching just for the cool factor it's not bad, but don't be surprised if you constantly find yourself asking questions that never get answered. If it stayed like the first half the whole way through, I'd have been inclined to give it a 4, but the previously mentioned sudden stupidity of the second half drops it to a 3. However, if you're the kind of person capable of completely turning your brain off for a series, feel free to bump this back up to 4 stars.
