to higlight all of the incredibly sick and yet sadly very popular American "true crime" reality shows. This clip is actually hauntingly close to being exactly like what these highly watched shows are all about. Who is really worse? Is it the people who make these sadistically titillating infotainment programs or the people who gleefully tune in every week? And before people race to mount their hobby horses [Golly gee! That's just not a subject to joke about!] they may want to understand that a majority of the viewership for these shows - from the simple voyeurism of "Mystery ER" to the horrid realism of "Forensic Files" and "Cold Case Files" - are women. Two of the most popular of these vile shows air on the onstensible "women's" network Oxygen: "Snapped" and "Captured" (Sample tag line - Fill your crime craving. Sample quote, "... and the other body parts were never found!"). The humor is that you could probably play this clip as a teaser on Discovery or Lifetime and very few viewers would even get that it was a joke and would be scrambling with antcipation to find out what time the show aired.

I get that they're trying to make something funny out of a usually sad and sickening act, but this just isn't something to laugh at. You went too far one this one onion.

Normally the Onion is hilarious but this one was just weird. lol
