Viewed this film for the first time years ago, and decided to dip a toe in once again to see if it still held my attention. Happily, it did. Much of the film is painted on a surreal canvas, as the camera reflects the character's chemically altered and damaged minds. Acting is quite good – especially but not exclusively by the three leads. There are some very good scenes (sex & Nosferatu) and some very bad scenes (the tasteless joke during the heist) - but on average, the film's cadence isn't interrupted horribly by filler and fluff in order to reach the 95 minutes. However, for me, the significant flaw in the diamond is the climax of the film. It is so overtly "over the top" as to be comical, and it does rudely jar you from any suspension of disbelief, which is unfortunate. Five stars without the climax, four stars with.
