Soo, as far as the after-life goes...not everyone is banished to the keeper, there is also an afterlife with the "Good Spirits". The show has everyone taking trips to Keeper, but it doesn't happen that way in the books. I haven't finished the entire series yet, but so far, Kalen's sister has stayed dead. I think that was a plot line the show came up with on their own. And lastly, Kalen confesses people in the books, it takes a much bigger physical toll on her than it does in the show. She's basically incapacitated by it. In some instances she needs to recover for days. Also, she's very caring and sensiitve and likens confessing someone with killing them, because when they are confessed they cease to have free will...she feels like she's destroyed the person. So while she'll do it to defend herself or others or out of dutyy, she can't bring herself to do it out for gain.
