No, you can't get TSS from olive oil. I'm wondering about this too though. She gets sick in some other episodes with no explanation there either. Perhaps they were setting her up for a long-term illness, or it was just the writers' interpretation of panic attacks. See 3 other replies

I thought they advanced the story line in some unique ways. I like all the women on the show and the those Scandinavian women are pretty good at comedic timing as well as being very cute. If only American girls were so open lol
